Just 70 kms away from Marrakech, Imlil is the last village to be found before attempting the ascent to the mount Toubkal, and it serves as departure point for several trekking itineraries. After passing the gorges of Asni, a picturesque village which is well known for its weekly market, held on Saturdays, the road continues through a verdant valley where the mountains, as impressive natural strongholds, play with colors as the sunlight changes. From the village of Imlil the ancient Kasbah which towers over the whole valley can be seen. Further below, towards Moulay Ibrahim, the Kik plateau seems to reach into the secrets of the Atlas up to Lalla Takerkoust lagoon, a preferred spot for the weekend trips of many Marrakchis. Departure from Marrakech at 9.00 am by prívate vehicle or minibús. Stop at Asni for a visit of its local market (only Saturdays. The rest of the week, stop at Moulay Ibrahim), continuing towards Imlil. We will enjoy one hour and a half’s walk towards its Kasbah and the waterfalls, passing through one of the hamlets with amazing views of the valley. Traditional Berber lunch at the riverside. Return to Asni where we will take the road to the Kik plateau, admiring a succession of impressive landscapes on the way. Brief stop at Lalla Takerkoust lagoon, before returning to Marrakech in the end of the afternoon. **Lunch with a local family might be possible. Subjected to availability.
