Explore the Imperial Cities & Desert – 7 days – Departure Fez

This circuit combines the most interesting landscapes of the country, the Imperial Cities: Fez and Marrakesh, the Middle Atlas mountains, the mysterious Sahara Desert, the stunning gorges of Todra and Ait Ben Haddou, Unesco World Heritage Site.

Day 1 & 2: Fez
You will have two hole days to enjoy all that this Imperial City has to offer. Fez is the Cultural capital and one of the most important religious centers of the country. We will organise a guided tour to the Medina, the oldest and most beautiful in Morocco, almost unchanged since the Middle Ages and declared Unesco World Heritage Site. The Medina doors lead us to a tangle of narrow streets and alleyways around the mosque Kairouine. Its university is the oldest in the world. Visit the tanners neighborhood. Nights at a Riad
Day 3: Ifrane | Azrou | Erg Chebbi – Sahara
In the morning we will depart to Merzouga in southern Morocco. On the way we will  visit the Moroccan Switzerland, Ifrane. We will pass through a forest of century cedars in Azrou in the Middle Atlas. Late afternoon you will arrive to our destination in the Sahara desert, a charming Auberge situated in Erg Chebbi dunes, where we will taste a typical dinner and sleep in a saharien stylish room.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi Tour
This day is exclusively  for a 4X4 tour around the region, passing through some off roads of the famous Lisbon – Dakar, we’ll have a tea and see how a nomadic family lives, visit the village of Khamlia, explore the Oasis of Asil Habied and visit the biggest Lake of the region. In the afternoon, ride a dromedary to the bivouac, with a stop in the big dune to contemplate the sunset. Overnight in the bivouac, in a typical Berber tent in the desert.

Day 5: Gorges Todra | Ouarzazate
Wake up early to see a unique sunrise at the top of the big dune. After breakfast return to the auberge. The driver will be waiting to start the journey towards Ouarzazate. We will visit the famous Todra Gorges, where you can see the most impressive canyon of Morocco, an ideal place for walking and exploring in your own. The next stop will be the Dades valley. Along the way it reveals the reddish color of the rocks in deep contrast with the green shades of Oasis. It is a bicolor landscape, with two well-matched shades. Arrive to Ouarzazate, the main Berber city, known for its dramatic mountains and desert landscape surrounded by breathtaking valleys. Dinner and night in a Dar.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou | Marrakesh
In the morning visit the city, the Kasbah Tourirt and if you wish the studios where some successes such as “Cleopatra” and “Mummy”were filmed. Then go to Ait Ben Haddou, declared as Unesco World Heritage Site. Formerly Aït Aïssa, the most beautiful Kasbah of southern Morocco in part because of the interest that the film industry dedicated since the early sixties, where David Lean filmed some scenes of ‘Lawrence of Arabia”. Arrive to Marrakech late afternoon and visit the medina and its souks and Jemaa El-Fna square. Night at a Riad in the Medina.

Day 7: Transfer to the airport

Depending on the time of the flight, time to visit the city. Transfer to the airport.
