Desert Trip from Agadir (7 days)
1st day: in the morning departure from Agadir to visit the beautiful nature park of Sous Massa Draa, trekking along the coast and lunch. In the afternoon departure towards Tiznit, visit to the ancient medina with the particular colo, ochre walls and in the evening arrival at Mirleft, splendid seaside village, with its authentic atmosphere not yet touched by mass tourism. Dinner and accommodation in riad.
2nd day: after a traditional breakfast we will take the road along the coast, passing through the impressive caves of Laghzira in Sidi Ifni, ancient coastal town built on a rocky platform, bordered by cliffs overlooking the sea. Lunch and departure for Guelmin, the ancient coastal town where the caravan arrived at the beach, here we will visit the ancient and traditional souks of camels and mlhaf (typical of colorful woven women’s clothing of the South of Morocco). In the evening arrival at Tata, the “gate of the desert”, with dinner and accommodation in riad.
3rd day: after a visit to Mousguid, the ancient village of Bedouins, we will proceed towards the dunes of Lake Iriqi. Arrival at ERG Chigaga, the great dune in the very desert, dinner and overnight in a nomad’s bivouac in the Erg.
4th day: in the morning awakening with walk in the desert with camel, and departure towards M’hamid where we will have lunch with the inhabitants of the Kasbah. In the evening arrival in Zagora, where we will have dinner and accommodation in a traditional riad.
5th day: departure from Zagora towards the Gorges du Todgha, we will take the road to the Draa Valley, Zagora and Tamagroute where we will visit the Qur’anic library and pottery cooperatives. Arrival in the afternoon at the canyons, dinner and accommodation in a typical riad.
6th day: after a traditional breakfast we will visit the Valley of roses and the mountains with the characteristic houses/dwellings inhabited by the Berber people. Lunch at the gorges of Dades, and trekking along the gorges. In the evening arrival at Ouarzazate with accommodation in a typical riad.
7th day: the first half of the day will be dedicated to the visit of the historical monuments of Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Haddou, ancient Berber Kasbah under the UNESCO heritage which has kept intact the architecture and the rhythms of original life, and immediately after visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt, the ancient residence of Glaoui, and the Museum of cinema. Return to Marrakech (passing through the beautiful mountains of the Tizi N’tichka) or, alternatively, Agadir (via Taznakht where we will visit a cooperative of Berber carpet made by women of the surrounding villages).
