|Discover a different side of Agadir on this mini safari tour—perfect for adventure-seekers. Leave Agadir, ride past Ait Melloul, and stop for a traditional “nuss nuss” (half milk, half coffee) en route to a banana plantation. Enjoy a brief stroll through the plantation, and admire the silence—no traffic or people can be heard.Ride through several Berber villages; a stop at a presumably haunted village is also included. Let the local children briefly tag along with you and your guide.
Continue to the pre-Saharan dunes, where you will meet the eccentric local scorpion charmer. Gather round and watch him flip over his pot; see live scorpions emerge, and witness the famous yellow scorpion dance. Head to the Youssef Bin Tachfine dam and take in sweeping panoramic views. Taste some freshly brewed mint tea brewed on site by the congenial old man that lives in the tent next to the dam.
Drive off toward Tiznit, the former “Silver Capital of the South.” Admire the ancient city walls and perhaps buy some original Berber silver jewelry. Sit down at Chez Brahim for a traditional lunch of Moroccan salads and savory tagines that blend coriander, cumin, paprika, and saffron with vegetables and meats. Use traditionally cooked bread to scoop up food from the tagine. Fresh fruit and dates are also served, along with mint tea.
