Morocco by Quad: Big South


DAY 1 : Marrakech – Télouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate (235 km with 120 km for transfer).
Hotel Before riding your cars, you will reach the minibus basis where you expect the equipment and support team for an initial briefing. Getting to your system, introduction to the conduct and lunch … You already can not wait to leave! At Anemiter, you hit the slopes and wild Technical High Atlas down to an icy stream which leads to the river Ounila. The scenery is beautiful mineral, composed of red cliffs, which intertwine with the river and plunges into a canyon that descends the mountains to Ouarzazate. You are on the old caravan route! Dinner and night in this great southern city located at the gates of the desert.
DAY 2 : Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Boumalene Dades(150 km).
At the exit of Ouarzazate, you go up a dry wadi bed and then cashed leaving room for amazing landscapes composed of corrugated vast stretches of rocks and patches of open grass. As far as the eye, you admire a plateau eroded by numerous wadis, always with the backdrop of the majestic Atlas. After crossing several old villages and then up a narrow valley, you’ve come to the village of Bou Tharar which green oasis in contrast with the color pink ocher earth. Through a new plateau, you reach the Dades Valley, also called the Valley of Roses. Dinner and night in a Kasbah.
DAY 3 : Boumalene Dades – Tizi n’Tazazert – Nekob – Zagora (180 km).
The expedition is not over! Now you close the massive Saghro a great track wheels. It rises abruptly to reach a few kilometers away to pass Tazazert. One of the most beautiful panoramas of Morocco with a landscape of rocks very dark, almost black. The descent to the South takes place in part along a green valley which plunges very cultivated in the heart of the desert. Lunch at Nekob and down the valley Drâa by a road that snakes along a verdant 250 km, getting at the heart of the desert. The valley is particularly rich in casbahs ocher than the vegetation or installed on headlands. Dinner and overnight in Zagora.
DAY 4 : Zagora – Ouled Driss – Chegaga (160 km).
Traditional nomad camp After breakfast, start on the track towards M’Hamid, the last village before the desert. You are in the land of the “blue men”! Lunch on site and continuing on sandy tracks to Lihoudi Erg 66 along the dunes, then heading south with the landscapes of the great Saharan dunes of Erg Chegaga. Check in late afternoon to nomad camp set up in the middle of the desert.
DAY 5 : Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Agdz – Ouarzazate (200 km).
Hotel After a nice starry night, due west towards the great chain of Jebel Bani and Iriqui lake, now dried up. On the way to Foum Zguid you along the green valley of Oued Zguid which turns into a beautiful, rocky desert landscape. Picnic lunch and cross the Atlas with the landscapes and grandiose before joining the beautiful valley of Drâa. The end of the track is here! Reluctantly you leave your machine Agdz, then reach Ouarzazate minibus. Installation in a hotel in town for your last night in the South..
DAY 6 : Ouarzazate – Marrakech (200 km de transfert).
Hotel A hearty breakfast awaits you before your transfer by minibus to Marrakech. On arrival, installation in the neighborhood of Hivernage and lunch. Afternoon free to discover Marrakech and its famous Medina. Dinner is free, so you can enjoy the many restaurants of the Place Jamaa El Fnaa.
